Hi gang!

These are the products that I have used, tested, and endorse for outdoors, bushcraft, and overland use. My criteria is a combination of functionality, durability, and affordable (mostly!).

I hope you find this list helpful for your overland travels and outdoor expeditions!

I’ll set this up by category to make it easier for you to navigate. Thank you for looking! Just click on the product image!

Note: Some of these links are affiliate links, others are not. Affiliate means basically that I get a small commission from the sale, helps me keep my work going! There is NO cost to you at all, it’s just a great way to say thanks!

I do not list anything just for fun: it’s all stuff I use and or recommend! Honesty and trust is important.

Bushcraft and Camping:

My favorite tent I’ve ever owned! Super quality material and construction, and super easy setup and take down. Super tent for overlanding and vehicle camping. I wouldn’t backpack with it though, too big!
This is the 4 man variant. I have the 3 man which is unavailable at the moment. I will update this as soon as the 3 man returns.

Outfitters Tent Stakes, light, aluminum, sturdy, easy to pack!

Mora Garberg full tang knife. Mora are my go to knives. I’ve tried many, including custom, and these just do it all so well!

Another Mora, this is the Companion Heavy Duty. Not full tang but I’ve never broken one. Great utility knife and the price is unbeatable!

Tarp poles for my awning, very handy to have for a variety of setups, even hammock camping!

Bahco Laplander folding saw and Mora knife combo. Outstanding piece of kit! I bought one for each of my kids too!

Bahco laplander folding saw by itself, fantastic little saw!

Great USB rechargeable headlamps. Simple, sturdy, with a red light for preserving night vision or night photography.

Nice little camp table. Durable, packs up pretty small and compact. About the right height for use while sitting in a camping chair. Good for a little extra space off the ground while cooking at camp or for the laptop and such while working out on the trails!

Overlanding and 4 wheel drive adventure travel.

Winch Bumper: My front bumper was made by Addicted Offroad. They have lots of products, front and rear bumpers, sliders, etc for Toyota four wheel drives!

Smittybilt XRC winch. I’ve had mine for 10 years so far, and it’s been flawless. Can’t beat em for the price. And the newer models are even better!

GREAT portable air compressor for airing up your tires after a drive on the trails! It’s pretty quick, I never feel like it takes a long time. It’s been a workhorse!

Powerful, rugged, snatch block for your recovery kit!

Tree saver strap, gives your winching a lot more flexibility!

Tool roll, stores a lot more compact than a tool box, quiet too! Holding up well so far!

Solar panel wiring extension cable. Good for that extra reach for portable panels.

Blue Sea Systems is quality stuff. Wiring is where you don’t want to shortcut. I use this for one of my fuse blocks for my dash panel setup and switches.

Tablet mount that I use on my dash. Holds my 10 inch Samsung tablet securely for navigation.

100 amp hour Deep cycle AGM battery I chose for my house battery, attached to my solar setup. So far so good!!

THe 100w solar panel I use for my setup. Keeps my fridge running and all my cameras and electronics charged up when paired with the battery above!

USB rechargable fan, really helps to keep things cool on those hot days!

Bought one of these charging stations to use before I got my solar setup. Gave it to my daughter who is now using it on her travels. It works great to keep electronics topped off. Probably won’t run a fridge though. Good product.

Power Panel I used for my house battery and solar setup.

Comfy memory foam mattress I use when I sleep inside the old 2nd gen Toyota 4Runner. It fits down one side perfectly, and is the perfect length, width, and thickness to fit with my gear and be very comfortable.

Cool FM transmitter so you can listen to music and podcasts from your phone, and answer calls, on an old school radio like we have in our classic overland rigs.

Hands down my favorite overlanding tire I’ve ever used for offroad and onroad travel combined. Not too noisy, handles well, better in snow and rain than a mud tire, this crossover is the happy middle. Great wear and very grippy so far! I use a 31 inch on my 2nd gen 4runner but select what size you need of course.

I find the Pelican cases to be worth it. My gear is valuable so I don’t skimp here. This is a case that is rugged enough and waterproof so it can ride up on the roofrack of the 4Runner if needed. Pressure equalization valve is great here on the west coast, with the mountain travel. Worth it!

Videography

Great speed, can handle 4K videos, lots of storage and best value.

Cool little tripod that makes filming with my Samsung s10+ a whole lot easier, for not much cost!

Affordable mic for video. It’s helped me get much better sound.

Windscreen muff for microphone above. A must have for filming outdoors.

Things I wish I had or recommend!

This Cannon M50 is IDEAL for video work! My phone works good but this is ideal!
